    The camp is held during the last week of July each summer. The current location is the Melrose Public Library in Melrose, Florida, with a field trip to the Cade Museum in Gainesville, Florida.

    The camp is free to all participants, so no scholarships are needed.

    Since the camp is free, there is no refund policy.

Activities and Curriculum

    Participants will engage in STEM videos, hands-on activities, demonstrations, and STEM exercises, and hear from guest speakers.

    Yes, activities are designed to match the skills and interests of different age groups. Older students will be given more advanced tasks and versions of activities.

Safety and Supervision

  1. Who supervises the camp?
    The camp is supervised by the library staff and the camp organizer. Parents are welcome to attend and stay with their children during the camp to observe or assist.

  2. What safety measures are in place?
    Children are never left unsupervised. All activities take place within the library’s classroom space. Each participant will receive an ID badge and lanyard for identification, and parents who stay will be required to wear a visitor badge sticker.

Logistics

  1. What should participants bring to camp?
    Participants only need to bring themselves and a positive attitude! All materials and resources are provided.

  2. Where do drop-off and pick-up take place?
    Drop-off and pick-up occur at the Melrose Public Library.

  3. Is before- or after-care available?
    Before- or after-care is not officially provided. However, if there is an emergency or a special need, we will work with families to ensure every child can participate in the camp safely.

Post-Camp

    Yes, every participant will receive a certificate of completion, and some prizes will be raffled off at the end of the camp.
